As some of you ( who have seen the old page) might know, this is a new section, and might seem utterly redundant to those who already know all of what is written here. But as I was reminded by one of my readers who gave feedback, if I intend reach the international community as well, it would only be courtesy to explain what this whole project is actually about. Therefore this new section: the background on myself, and the whole notion of the IRS.

Who am I?

My name is Karin Lai, and I am a Singaporean student in the Secondary Three Gifted Education Programme (GEP), and a pupil of Raffles Girls' School ( Secondary).

What is this project all about?

The Individualised Research Study, or IRS, is a project specifically catered to GEP students. The ideology behind the GEP is that all the students that have been selected for the programme have a talent, or passion for something, and the IRS is a channel by which we can channel our passion into something of a research project. It is a project lasting about 6 months in duration.

Now that you ( if you are a non-GEP/non-Singaporean reader) know something more about the purpose behind this project, let's get on with it, shall we?
